Did you know that 69% of Americans believe angels are real, and about 55% say they’ve had a personal experience with one?
So—are most of us imagining things? My answer is yes and no.
Most people picture angels as glowing beings with wings, halos, and personalities that mirror our own. It’s human nature to anthropomorphize what we can’t fully understand. We imagine angels as they’re portrayed in our culture—beautiful, human-like, and often gendered.
But in my experience, angels aren’t shaped like people at all. They are pure consciousness—energy vibrating at a higher frequency than what our physical senses can normally perceive. Just because we can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Think about all the unseen realities we accept—germs, radio waves, infrared light, distant stars. Our senses detect only a tiny sliver of what truly exists.
The first time I felt the presence of an archangel, I was doing an energy clearing for myself. My body grew warm and began to vibrate. Behind my eyes, I saw pulsating mandalas of magenta light and sacred geometry. I could feel the loving presence of Archangel Chamuel overlaying my own energy field. It was so intense that I had to sit down, and for a few hours afterward I felt both grounded and expanded—partly here, partly elsewhere.

Many people feel that the physical world is all there is and that when the body dies the essence of our being dies with it. This perspective is called Materialism and is based on what we can perceive through our senses. Materialism rests upon the foundation of what we can scientifically demonstrate, measure and observe. Materialism is valid and has contributed greatly to our understanding of how the world works from a mechanistic perspective. But I believe this perspective is limited. It’s a slice a of the pie, but not the whole pie.
The main way we construct our reality is through the information that our senses bring. But the way our senses are constructed ignores huge amounts of data because well….it’s simply not relevant. Our senses allow in the information that is necessary to survive as a human being and they filter everything else out.
Bats can navigate at night.Bats produce sound waves, which travel through the air and bounce back when they hit objects. By interpreting these returning echoes, bats can detect and identify objects around them even in total darkness.
We humans are limited at night and before electricity, we hunkered in our caves and shelters around the fire with our clan.
Elephants can hear low frequency sounds far below the level our human ears can perceive. They use these sounds to communicate with other herds, and to navigate over long distances.
The realities of a bat, an elephant and a human being are very different! And yet we wouldn’t say that realities of a bat or an elephant are any less real than our own experience.
So it’s clear that there are levels of reality that we may not be able to readily perceive and yet are very real. Self-love is essential for a happy and fulfilling life. Our meditation sessions are designed to help you cultivate self-love and acceptance. Join us for a guided meditation that will leave you feeling empowered and confident.
